For many, January is typically the start of travel planning for the year ahead, and I am no different. I seem to seek solace from the cold, wet and dark days post-Christmas with a little bit of planning and a whole lot of wanderlusting! As well as hours spent scrolling through travel websites, holiday accommodation sites and destination guides, I also gather a whole load of inspiration from some wonderful family travel bloggers.

There are a great variety of family travel bloggers here in the UK, often with very different family set ups, different travel tastes, different budgets and different styles of writing about it. So if like me, you are looking for advice and inspiration when it comes to family travel, you are sure to find blogger who you can relate to .

So, to get you started, here are five amazing family travel bloggers who you really should follow in 2018:

Mini Travellers

Mini Travellers is a multi-award winning travel blog which is designed for parents of children of all ages looking for ideas for holiday and days trips.  According to a recent reader poll Mini Travellers is “authentic and always enjoyable to read” and is “one of the few travel blogs that has covered Disney and Rwanda and a B&B in Wales in the same 12 months!”

Karen, her husband and her three girls (aged 7,6,6) travel far and wide, and with 60 flights between them in 2017 they really don’t stand still.  An unusual feature of Mini Travellers is the regular guest writers who contribute content throughout the year ensuring that the blog covers trips suitable for all family ages, size and budgets.

Lisa, Editor of Travel Loving Family, has visited 80+ countries and worked in the travel industry for over 20 years.  Job roles include a few years onboard cruise ships as Shore Excursions Manager and Travel Specialist for a luxury tour operator. After living in the USA for five years Lisa has now settled in Gloucestershire with her husband and two sons.  They particularly love city breaks, exploring Europe in a motorhome and discovering hidden gems around the world.

Katy is a mum to three children and has a real passion for travelling. Together with Mr S, they have spent the last three and a half years converting their beloved campervan with a dream to explore and enjoy the simple things in life. Over the last year Otis and Us have travelled around the UK,  including a stop in Scotland, Isles of Scily and Pembrokeshire.

Kaz, a single mum of four children aged from 21 – 5 years old has always loved travelling, and shares her and her family’s travels and adventures in the UK and abroad. Kaz shares her family’s travels mainly through the eyes of her youngest boy, Pickle, as well as the viewpoints of her teens too. Travelling solo as a parent is not an easy task and Kaz shares lots of tips on travelling and is always looking for family friendly breaks for children of all ages. Ickle Pickles Life and Travels blog is four years old now, and over the years Kaz has loved writing about the travels she has been on to such places as Menorca as well as writing about some fantastic places she is yet to visit such as Iceland. Laura is a South African expat now living in Wales and has also previously lived in Edinburgh, Cornwall, Amsterdam and Nice. Having grown up with an Expat Parent meant she travelled extensively as a young child and loved learning about new cultures. She is passionate about sustainable travel as well as visiting unique places, before having children she took one of the last Royal Mail Cargo Ships on her own from South African all the way back to the UK stopping off at isolated St Helena island, spending almost a week on the island getting to know the local Saints.
