Camp Wilderness Bushcraft Days: Looking Forward to a Day of Family Fun!

It may sometimes be hard to convince my boys to put down their devices to head outside, but when they are out and about they are often at their happiest.

So when we were recently invited to spend a day at a Camp Wilderness Bushcraft Day, I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for them.

Camp Wilderness is run by The Bushcraft Company – the experts in outdoor education for school children, and they offer 2, 3 or 5 day summer camps aimed at children aged 6 to 15 years. They operate at a selection of locations, and aim to give kids a real chance to gain some independence, make friends and learn new skills along the way.

So to get a taste of camp life, this coming weekend the two boys and I will heading off into the woods for a day that promises a great selection of activities that are sure to appeal to their outdoorsy sides, and hopefully help them forget about Pokemon and MarioKart!

Along with a host of other families, we will be experiencing and learning all about camouflage and concealment, fire workshops and wilderness cooking, wild food workshops and camp craft making.

The boys are already excited, and having never experienced a summer camp myself growing up, I have to say I am super excited too!!

So, be sure to check back next week to see how we got on, and in the meantime check out the Camp Wilderness twitter and Facebook pages for information about their other upcoming family days!
